The Healing Touch
Watson George, founder & visionary of Beyond Me Haiti
After being adopted from Haiti and brought into an American family, Watson George grew up in Ferndale, Washington. Music was one of the main ways he learned English. He repeated words and phrases that he heard being spoken in English until he understood what they meant. At the age of 12, he began penning rhymes as he memorized bible scriptures and added a beat behind them for creativity. Before long, he was diving into the hip-hop and rap swimming pool. In 2012, Watson began heading Beyond Me Haiti (BMe Haiti), which started out as a beneficial hip hop project to raise funds for Haitian people. In November of 2013, Watson partnered with Mud Ministry to make the cause official as it turned into a non-profit organization. Watson is working hard to improve his skills on the microphone and sharing the gospel through music. This project gives him the ability to use his creativity to make a difference for his native country. He works with producers, singers, and artists from around the U.S. to create music to raise funds to help the people of Haiti. With the lord’s assistance, Watson wants to be the helping hand that touches lives in America as well as in Haiti.

Beyond Me Haiti (BMe Haiti) is a ministry of a 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization called Mud Ministry. It is a collaboration effort of hip hop artists, singers, and musicians from all over the U.S. producing music to raise funds for Haitian orphans, widows, as well as assisting with medical and educational needs in Haiti. BMe Haiti is dedicated to spreading God’s love by touching and benefiting Haitian lives through fundraising, mission work, and community partnership. In a self-centered society where people put the focus on themselves, its crew inspires people to love, give, and put others first. Most importantly, what they do reflects what Jesus said in Luke 9:23, “whoever wants to be my disciple, must deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me.”

Beyond Me Haiti is using creativity for God’s glory. Music is a powerful tool to use to speak up for those who don’t have a voice and walk alongside them.
